Additional Love

"It's like having another kid. It's not as if she is an extension to the family. She is the family... like my daughter. It makes me so happy to see my son so happy"

-Rachel Pepose

Mothers-in-law. Who would think three words could be so terrifying?
How awesome would it be though, to have a relationship where three words can mean love, appreciation, and acceptance?

A mother and daughter-in-law relationship can be the greatest blessing in one's life. From having coffee together, going shopping and to sharing recipes - always with the knowledge that your mother-in-law will always be there for you.

When a mother-in-law makes her daughter-in-law part of the family, not only does she become her daughter; she has a made a friend. A friend who she has entrusted to take care of her son, a daughter whom she will be proud of.

"It's a loving feeling to feel like you're part of the family, that you're not different. We are so close that she can tell me anything, I can tell her too and we still love each other."  [Gitty Pepose]

How do you make that happen? You may have differences in opinions, different tastes and different outlooks in life, but when both of you respect and appreciate the other for what they have done up until now and will continue doing - that is the key. It's because when two strangers come together and emerge as family they become one unit. Once you have acknowledged that, both will never stop giving, loving and accepting.

How will your daughter-in-law know that her mother-in-law loves her just the way she is, so she can love you back?
