Brothers For Life

"Brothers don't always have the same last name."

- Unknown

I will never forget the feeling I felt as a little kid having my picture taken with a soldier. The admiration mixed with pride I felt at that moment stayed with me forever. Do you remember that feeling too? What is it about say seeing a soldier, being around soldiers or talking to them that makes your heart skip a beat?

Well, you might say that it's the thought of them on the front lines risking their lives to keep their country safe or the image of them standing, ready, waiting for the command. It might be true, but I think that is only the beginning. Not only are they prepared to put their lives on the line day in and day out to protect us and keep us safe, they will never let any harm come to their comrades - they will go above and beyond to protect their friends even if it involves risking their lives, as long as they are ok.

When someone else's struggles truly become your struggles and their successes are your successes; it's not friendship, its unity.

When people from all walks of life, with different interests and backgrounds, join forces with one goal in mind - to protect me and you and each other - they are stronger than a force of nature. The admiration and respect they have for one another is the foundation of what their friendship is built on. They are not only allies in battle, they are brothers for life. If they need a place to crash for the night, someone to lend money from or someone just to have a good time with, they know they've always got someone they could count on.

Now, you don't have to be a soldier to be part of a regiment and to don't have to wear the gear to have your friend's back. Who will you join forces with today that'll make you and them unstoppable?

  1. Very well put and so true. I notice a theme running thru your blogs: working on good relationships with people no matter what they do or who they are. Keep up the good work as good relationships are sooooo important.
