"A true police officer fights not because he hates what's in front of him... but because he loves who stands behind him."

We all know that it is every little kid's dream to be a police officer, but what about being a police officer is so tempting, that some kids actually grow up to become officers? Is it the uniform? The gun? The light and the sirens?
I think we can all agree that it's far from that.
When a little girl can't find her mommy, who else will she turn to for help if not a police officer? And when a mommy can't find her little girl; once again, it's the police officer to the rescue. We all feel much safer sitting in the park, shopping in the mall or even when walking down the street when we see an officer around, unless, you have something you would like to talk about;).
They go into places not knowing what's waiting for them on the inside, not knowing the dangers that might be there, and not knowing if they will come out on the other side.
We must have the utmost respect for them and their jobs because it's not about how many lights there are on the police car or the amount of noise it makes - they can be loud. It's the level of bravery and commitment they face every morning again when turning their radios on and report the duty of serving us with love.
How will you express your gratitude to the people who have the softest hearts under the toughest vests?
Love the truthful simplicity of your last sentence. Really well written
ReplyDeleteTrue to some extent but many Americans (especailly colored ones) will say that they are very scared of police as they tend to beat up poeple of no reason.
