"A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you'll grow."
- Unknown
Do you remember when you saw a father and son in the ball pit, having the time of their lives throwing balls at each other and wondered what makes their love so unique?
Being a dad is one of the greatest gifts you can give your son. His daddy is his role model, partner in crime and will always be stronger than all other dads. A father is what gives a boy the strength to reach his potential and push himself beyond what he thought he could do - his ability to be a man.
The time spent together, the challenges they overcome and the fun they have together is what gives them the possibility to bring out the best in each other; these are the experiences on which a father builds his son. The memories of the first time they went to a game together, to when his dad was there to cheer him at graduation to when he hugged him goodbye on his first day of college; the lessons taught just by being in his presence are the things that will always stay with him forever. Until one day, his day will look up to him with pride.
And when the time comes, the little boy will ask himself, "Will my son have a dad like my dad?"

As a dad, I find your piece a beautiful reminder of the power that I can give to my kids and the joy that comes with doing a job well done.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture
My father empowered me to become who I am today through all his warmth, acceptance, unconditional love and encouragement. I hope I'll be such a parent like that to my kids, but I think I'll only really understand all that he gave me once I'm a parent for a few years and have overcome challenges.
ReplyDeleteI love the last sentence!! It's so heartwarming!
